McDonagh, a psychologist who specialises in helping patients with substance abuse problems, was seven months pregnant when she left her home after an argument with her husband in December last year.
She bought a bottle of wine from a store in Weatherill Park then headed to a nearby park to down the alcohol, 9News reported.
But on the drive home, she lost control of her vehicle and crashed it into several parked cars in a street 500m from where she lived. No one was injured in the crash.
McDonagh’s baby was born healthy two weeks ago.
