A passenger who had flown on Spirit Airlines from Los Angeles to Seattle ended up recording herself as she underwent a massive meltdown over the company's extra fees.
In a 20 minute recording posted live to Periscope and then to YouTube, the woman who calls herself the 'Italian Barbie' appeared to become extremely agitated as she waited for an agent to process a refund.
Despite paying the $105 fee to check in a bag and completing the entire journey, the 25-year-old woman, whose real name is Vanessa Grancagnolo, waited until she got off the plane to air her grievances.

Vanessa, who has 56,000 followers on Periscope but just 600 on Twitter kept on airing her frustration at paying twice for bag fees
Vanessa ended up recording for 20 minutes as she attempted to get a refund for bag fees
Speaking with an American accent and she tells Seattle police officers and airline staff that she was living in Los Angeles but was an Italian citizen, even flashing her European passport to the camera.
Vanessa, who is apparently a 'wellness advocate' based in Los Angeles starts to broadcast the entire confrontation which starts in a confrontational manner with the passenger asking the customer service agent for the cops to be brought.
'You either give me a refund of the unnecessary charges or I am not leaving. I would like a refund now! I would like a refund now!' she says. 'I paid an extra $55 on top of another $50 online.'
Other travelers look on in bemusement as the woman makes her demands clear while explaining that she has 56,000 followers on Periscope.
Never once using the word 'please', the woman says: 'Do something to me b****!'
Incredibly, despite being verbally abused and sworn at, the Spirit Airlines agent remains calm and even manages to keep a smile on her face for the duration of the interaction.
'I would like a refund now! I would like a refund now!' the Vanessa states again aggressively. 'I'm 25 and I'm a grown-ass woman, and I need a refund now!'
She ended up being abusive towards airline staff and other travelers by the gate
The gate agent from Spirit Airlines remained calm and even managed to smile throughout
As other passengers start to gather around the gate area sensing that the drama is only just beginning, the woman shouts a number of homophobic slurs to a bystander.
She is then approached by other travelers in the airport who ask for her name but responds by giving them her Instagram handle and recommends they follow her in a moment of narcissism.
She then attempts to qualify her extreme behavior by stating that her mother is a dermatologist and father, a professor of Physics.
Vanessa says: 'It's not about the money you dumb b****. It's not about the money – It's about respect, values and morals. I am being respectful to myself. I won't pay $50 and then an additional $55,' she tells the gate agent (despite having already paid the fees).
'This airline didn't even have WiFi, they didn't even have free water, they charged me $3 for an Aquarius Water that you can purchase at the 99-Cent Store!
'I got more money than all of you f****** combined b****,' she shouts at the gathering crowds in an outburst.
Shortly afterwards, other passengers in the area start to take their own photos and videos of what is happening in front of them which only serves to encourage the woman.
'Oh my God guys I just got a picture taken,' she says to the camera. 'I'm going to be famous. You guys I'm gonna be famous. F*** yeah. I'm gonna be famous. I'm gonna be famous guys, they're taking pics of me.'
Vanessa says she is a 'wellness advocate' but also claims she is a marketing professional, an actress, a health &beauty expert, and could have been a lawyer or even a flight attendant
Moments later, the airport police arrive to the applause of those around her.
The police pull the woman aside who explains her situation in greater detail.
'On the airplane I was getting very agitated because of the bad service I was getting. The flight attendants were mean to me. There was no WiFi on the plane. There was no free water and no free anything. I'm usually at least used to getting a free water from a Delta or Southwest flight,' she says.
The officer explains that the reason Spirit Airlines is so cheap is because of the additional fees that company is known to charge.
'It's not cheap though, I paid more than I would've paid for Delta,' Vanessa replies. 'The pilot couldn't apparently handle my energy.'
Despite the torrent of abuse that Vanessa had spouted at the gate agent along with a barrage of swear words to other travelers, Vanessa calms down when she speaks to the officer who even commiserates with her over Spirits business model.
A Seattle police officer listened to her complaints and appeared to sympathize with her
One thing is certain - Vanessa does not intent to fly with Spirit Airlines again
"I've never experienced such bad service. I'm a very logical person. I was going to be an attorney. I have a marketing degree,' she says as she attempts to appear sane.
During the conversation, she manages to convince the officer of her good behavior.
'I would like to press charges on Spirit!' she declares. 'I expect good moral values. I almost worked for Delta as a flight attendant, I know what good customer service is! I know what values are and Spirit has none!
''I'm sorry – I'm Italian, I'm Sicilian and I have literally never been treated just like Italians are just dirt,' Vanessa continues as she begins to tear up.
During the last few minutes of the video, the woman appears to calm down as she tells how stressed the entire situation has made her.
Finally, the feature-length clip ends with a police officer coming to have another word with her.
'Vanessa would you mind just hanging up, I gotta talk to you.'
It's not clear whether she succeeded in getting her refund. Spirit Airlines has so far not commented on the situation.
