Stephen Colbert returns to work after attending to his sick 91yr old mother
Fans of The Colbert Report will be delighted to hear that their illustrious favourite will start filming again today.
The political satirist cancelled shows last week to travel to Charleston, South Carolina, when he heard his 91-year-old mother, Lorna, was sick, as reported by the New York Post.
But Comedy Central announced yesterday that taping will resume tomorrow, and new episodes are expected to air all week.

The dutiful son, who lost his father and two brothers in a plane crash in 1974, responded to his fans support on Twitter: 'My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers.'
'We are grateful and touched by your concern,' he wrote.
New episodes of The Colbert Report were abruptly cancelled at the last minute on Wednesday and subsequently on Thursday.
The New York Post reported that Stephen Colbert, the host of the comedy show, pulled out of filming because his 91-year-old mother was ill.
A source told the paper: ‘They are a very private family. It’s not surprising that he did not want anyone to know what was going on.’
A spokesperson for the TV personality did not respond to a request for comment earlier today.
Colbert, 47, is one of 11 children and said to be extremely close to his mother Lorna.

At the age of ten-years-old Stephen lost his father and two of his brothers in an airline crash.
It is not clear what Lorna Colbert’s ailments are.
Comedy Central, the channel which airs the show, said it would air repeats until further notice.
The Colbert Report is a daily show spin-off which first aired in October 2005 and parodies news broadcasts.
